Ashwagandha seeds (Withania somnifera)

The sleeping berry or ashwagandha is one of the most important medicinal plants in Ayurveda. In Sanskrit, ashwagandha means "smell of the horse".
Withania somnifera is cultivated in India, Sri Lanka, parts of Africa and also in southern Europe. The plants reach heights of 50 - 150 cm.
The root or root extracts are sometimes used as well as the leaves, the berries are poisonous.
The applications of ashwagandha are very diverse
It is used, among other things, for age-related ailments, impotence, inflammation, as a tonic and insomnia.
