This special plant salad with spicy and nutty flavor comes originally from the Mediterranean area, although in the last 15 years it has also conquered the stomachs of northern Europeans. Those who enjoy the flavor should try the homemade rocket and walnut pesto.

Easy to grow, its seeds germinate easily, the plant grows quickly and it's rarely attacked by pests.

In folk medicine it is said to be an appetite stimulant and a diuretic. The Romans also considered it to be an aphrodisiac.
