Lovage 
(Levisticum officinale)

Lovage has a flavor reminiscent of Maggi cubes although it is not included in the preparation. It has a flavor somewhere between parsley and cilantro but can not be used instead of these herbs.

Probably lovage is native to Persia, but is widespread in southern Europe and it was a condiment very appreciated by the Romans.

All parts of the plant (roots, leaves and fruits can be used as a condiment in soups, stews and in tomato sauce with oregano (Liguria Cooking in Italy).
